UNITED OKOYONG PAST STUDENTS’ ASSOCIATION USA
President’s Welcome Message
My Dearest OPSA Sisters, Friends, and Benefactors,
I greet you with a heart full of gratitude, joy, and humility.
As President of United OPSA USA, it is both a profound honor and a deeply personal journey to serve in this role. My roots with Queen of the Rosary College, Okoyong Mamfe, run deep. I was a proud student of Queen of the Rosary College from 1988 to 1995, and I carry those years with me as a cherished reminder of my humble beginnings and the strength that shaped me into the woman I am today.
Growing up in Victoria, the road to Okoyong was not always easy - literally and figuratively. The journey was often long and challenging because of difficult road conditions. Yet, despite these obstacles, I always looked forward to returning to school. Why? Because QRC was more than a school; it was home. It was the music, the dancing, the camaraderie, and the sacred church services that filled my soul. Most importantly, it was the sisterhood that blossomed within those walls - a sisterhood that continues to endure across continents and generations.
Being part of this beautiful association, United OPSA USA, brings me full circle. It is a call to give back, to uplift, and to invest in the lives of the next generation. My passion - my why - is to enhance the education of the girl child. I believe deeply in the transformative power of educating girls and in the stronger families, communities, and societies that result when girls are given the opportunity to learn and thrive.
At United OPSA USA, we are committed to making sure that no girl is held back by circumstance, lack of opportunity, or lack of support. We are building bridges for those coming behind us and investing in a future in which girls are empowered to become mothers, teachers, leaders, professionals, and nurturers of generations to come.
This is why our mission matters. This is why we continue to stand tall, support one another, and give back. Together, we can honor the legacy of Queen of the Rosary College by being the change we once needed and by creating pathways for the girls who will one day take our place.
I invite our OPSA sisters, friends, and benefactors to continue this journey with us. Let us strengthen our sisterhood, preserve our legacy, and work together to expand educational opportunities for the girl child.
With pride and purpose,
Eveline Nkea-Nyochembeng
President, United OPSA USA
